VINTAGE VINYL FAIR & COLLECTOR'S SOCIAL - SEPTEMBER 28th 2008
This is a new event in Manchester, the second of which takes place on Sunday 28th September. It's a record fair in the daytime, with music carrying on until late. Dealers on the day besides me will include the likes of Adam Leaver, Music Temple (Brixton), Les Hare (King Bee’s, Manchester), Adey Pearce (Costswold Records, Gloucester), Alex Jones (Bolton), Richie (Heavy Rotation, London), Chris McBride (Liverpool), Skip (The Record Room, Nottingham) and more - so expect to find a wide range of quality stuff up for grabs across all genres of black music. Doors open at Midday and the fair runs until 6pm or so, then there’s music until about midnight from Adam, myself and special guest Dave Ripolles. If you like soul and you’ve not heard Dave play out before, I’d recommend a visit for that reason alone. The venue is upstairs at the King’s Arms, 11 Bloom Street, Manchester M3 6AN (an excellent independent pub only a short walk from Deansgate, fine ales available in the bar downstairs). Trades are more than welcome, so feel free to bring a box down. For any further info just get in touch, and if you’re interested in selling, the last few stalls are still available.
AROE'S WRECKSHOP CD
This is now back on sale, the faulty copies have been replaced by proper ones.
DISCO & BOOGIE SECTION
This is a new part of the site, mainly covering 12"s from the late '70s and early '80s. There's bound to be some musical overlap with the Funk & Soul section, which is mostly for 7"s, but the new category is to help make browsing easier. The first batch has just been listed, including some big records, and almost everything is in beautiful condition.
SALE NOW ON: FUNK & SOUL 45s
Several hundred records have been significantly reduced this week throughout the section, so have a good look through & pick up some bargains.
ORDERING FROM FRANCE & ITALY
Customers from France and Italy now must pay £3.50 extra for registered "International Signed For" delivery on orders over £32. This is due to the large amount of parcels that have been going missing when sent to these countries, where the postal services seem to be terrible. Although we keep all postal receipts & proofs of postage for our records, we cannot be held responsible for missing packages if you do not purchase "International Signed For", since Royal Mail allow a maximum claim of £32 on unregistered mail. Sorry about this - if it applies to you, please go to the Merchandise section and add "International Signed For" to your order before checking out.
INSURING YOUR ORDER
Although France and Italy's postal services are by far the worst, people from all countries outside the UK are advised to buy "International Signed For" when making expensive orders.
PAYING VIA PAYPAL
Please contact sales@concourserecords.com to have your record/s reserved. You'll then be sent the payment address & a total with shipping.

WHAT IT IS
Concourse is a new and improved version of the old mail order service run by Big Daddy and Grand Slam magazines, providing an ever-expanding selection of quality used records.
Browsing should be self explanatory. A play button icon appears where a sound clip is available, and an info button appears where a review or further details have been uploaded. The site is still being tweaked, so please bear with us as we develop the drop-down menus that allow you to view stock selectively.
We ship daily. Providing orders are received in good time, they'll be dispatched the same day.
The shop is constantly being updated with new stock, so keep checking back.
Thanks for looking,
George |
